Guest Notice: Upcoming Road Closure

Please note that essential Scottish Water works will result in a partial road closure of Waterloo Place from 7 September for approximately 11 weeks (completion expected late November).

The westbound carriageway between Calton Hill and Leith Street will be closed, and traffic diversions will be in place, so please allow extra time for your journey.

A temporary taxi rank and bus stops will be in place for eastbound services.  Pedestrian access will remain open throughout, and the hotel will operate as normal.

New Year’s Eve Access

Please note that Temple Court is located in Zone 1, a restricted area for New Year’s Eve, and special access procedures are in place.

To ensure you can access the area and enjoy your stay with us, wristbands will be required. These wristbands are essential for entry into the restricted event zones and must be collected from reception upon your arrival.

Important Information:

  1. Restricted Access
    • Zone A & Zone B: Entry to these zones will require passing through security checkpoints, which may include bag searches.
    • Zone C: Generally unrestricted access, but certain areas may still have controls.
    • Vehicle access will be restricted from 14:00 on 31 December to 06:00 on 1 January.
  2. Wristband Collection
    • Please ensure you collect your wristbands from reception at check-in. Without a wristband or legal evidence of your right to access, you may not be permitted into restricted event zones.
  3. Additional Road Closures
    • Some central London roads may remain closed for the New Year’s Day Parade. Details and maps of road closures will be provided closer to the event.
